Blasi
Chalk Hill
14.8%
Nose of vine-ripened strawberry, cherry and leather. Medium-bodied with minerality, showing its elegant Chalk Hill terroir. SR (12/25)
Winter rains restored deep soil moisture and budbreak arrived during the spring equinox. These vines are planted in chalky, white, volcanic ash soil in a warmer area of the Russian River appellation. The fruit ripened steadily into late September, allowing full flavor development. This lovely zinfandel can be enjoyed young and will continue to develop over the next five to six years. SR (6/25)
Gary Blasi has been farming this old vines vineyard in the Chalk Hill appellation for over forty years on a handshake agreement with owner Jim Metcalfe. This wine has been labeled with Gary’s name to credit his many years of meticulously farming this classic vineyard.
