Vintage Notes

Within the York Creek Vineyard are several plantings of cabernet sauvignon. In 1992, we harvested exclusively from vines on the slope below the stone walls of the Arena. Low yields provided intensity at moderate sugar levels. In assembling the wine, we included a small amount of dark, spicy petit verdot. Lush, full and firm in structure, this lovely cabernet demonstrates once again the exceptional quality of York Creek. It will develop fully over the next ten to twelve years. PD (3/94)

History

Since 1962, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, exploring California in search of great vineyards where climate, soil and varietal are perfectly matched. Unlike other alcoholic beverages, fine wine, when made traditionally, is the result of a natural process. Using traditional methods and minimal handling, we strive to produce the highest quality wines from superior and distinctive fruit. We are proud that our three decades are an integral part of California’s winemaking history.
