In 1972, Ridge made the first Lytton Springs Zinfandel. Four more vintages followed. Over the years, we compared them with Ridge zinfandels from fifteen other sites. Time confined what we had sensed from the outset -here was one of the great California vineyards. It was our good fortune to purchase the estate property in 1991. In 1992, unusually ripe grapes produced a very rich, full wine. Balance and intensity of fruit give it immediate appeal, and firm structure ensures longevity.
