Vintage Notes

Since 1974 we have made this wine from old vines on the edge of the gold mining camp of Fiddletown. We only produced enough to offer our Advanced Tasting Program. The 1982 shows good fruit and full, lively flavors. The typical Cabernet-like austerity will begin to soften by next spring and the wine should develop more fully with four or five years in bottle. PD (4/84)

History

Founded in 1959, Ridge produced its first vintage as a bonded winery in 1962. With the 1982 wines we celebrate our twentieth anniversary. Located above 2300 feet on Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains, our winery and main vineyards overlook San Francisco Bay.
