Vintage Notes

This old vineyard on School House Road in the Sierra foothills was planted by the Esola family in 1910. In 1982 we selected a block of vines that produced smaller, more intense berries and set it aside four our Advance Tasting Program. The firl tannin provides a good backbone and although it will begin to soften by the time of its release, it needs at least two to three years in bottle to develop fully. PD (6/84)

History

Founded in 1959, Ridge produced its first vintage as a bonded winery in 1962. With the 1982 wines we celebrate our twentieth anniversary. Located above 2300 feet on Monte Bello Ridge in the Santa Cruz Mountains, our winery and main vineyards overlook San Francisco Bay.
