Our first RIDGE Weekend Getaway took place October 14th-17th, 2021 at the Bodega Bay Lodge in Bodega Bay, California. Our Winemaking and Executive teams welcomed 130 passionate RIDGE fans to the Sonoma Coast for three days of engaging discussion, interactive tastings, delicious pairings, and access to a variety of extremely limited, back-vintage wines including the 1984, 1991, and 1994 Monte Bellos.

Package Highlights

Package costs range from $3,800 – $5,500 depending on your choice of room. The weekend package includes three nights’ lodging for two guests, admission for two to the Thursday evening Library Tasting, Winemaker Workshops, Wine Conversations and Winemaker Dinner, plus breakfast for two each day.

Weekend Agenda

Never before has there been a RIDGE event of this magnitude. This all-access weekend will be an experience like no other.

Thursday:

  • Arrival / Welcome Library Tasting: 4-7pm

  • Kick off this amazing weekend with a welcome reception at the resort’s Fireside Lounge featuring an array of rare, back vintage wines from our library, hosted by our entire winemaking team including Head Winemaker John Olney, Senior VP of Vineyard Operations David Gates, and Chairman Paul Draper.

  • Dinner

  • Enjoy dinner onsite at Drake’s Sonoma Coast (reservations recommended to secure your preferred time) where a RIDGE Executive will host Drake’s guests with a special featured wine and pairing, or venture to one of the many delicious options nearby (see “Explore the Area” options below). *Not included in package price

Friday:

  • Breakfast: 7am – 10am

  • Each morning enjoy an elaborate breakfast buffet overlooking the ocean.

  • Wine Conversations – What is Pre-Industrial Winemaking?: 11am – Noon

  • Take part in a lively discussion and tasting about our pre-industrial approach to winemaking and how that philosophy impacts the quality of our wines.

  • Lunch:

  • The resort will maintain a casual barbecue onsite each day or you can explore the area (see below). *Not included in package price

  • Rosé Poolside: 1pm – 3pm

  • Meet and mingle with the RIDGE team while enjoying the beautiful Bodega Bay views and the heated pool and Infinity Edge hot tub.

  • Winemaker Workshops: 1pm – 3pm

  • The Winemaker Workshop will take place on Friday afternoon for half of the attendees and Saturday afternoon for the other half due to space limitations. The topics and wines selected will be identical for each day’s session. On the day you are not attending, you can explore the wonders of the area or relax by the pool. The topics covered by our winemaking team during the session include:

    1. “The Mystery & Magic of Historic Field Blends” – A study in what makes these gnarly 100+ year-old vineyards so special and how they contribute to complexity in our wines.
    2. “Assembling Monte Bello” – An exploration into the terroir of the Monte Bello vineyard and our unique approach to assemble this special wine.

    The workshops will feature several wines that illustrate the topic at hand.

  • Winemaker Dinner: 6pm

  • The Winemaker Dinner will take place on Friday evening for half of the attendees and Saturday evening for the other half due to space limitations. The menu and pairings will be identical for each night. On the night you are not attending, you can explore the area for dinner or take part in a casual barbecue on property. The dinner will consist of a special five-course Winemaker Dinner hosted by Paul Draper, John Olney, David Gates, Mark Vernon & David Amadia. Each locally-sourced course will be paired specifically with our wines as the chef and our team work together to craft an unforgettable food & wine experience. Hosts may vary each evening.

Saturday:

  • Breakfast: 7am – 10am

  • Each morning enjoy an elaborate breakfast buffet overlooking the ocean.

  • Wine Conversations – Organic Farming Uncovered: 11am – Noon

  • Learn (and taste) about our sustainability philosophy, our organic farming practices and how we became the largest grower of organically certified grapes in Sonoma County and the Santa Cruz Mountains AVA.

  • Lunch:

  • The resort will maintain a casual barbecue onsite each day or you can explore the area (see below). *Not included in package price

  • Rosé Poolside: 1pm – 3pm

  • Meet and mingle with the RIDGE team while enjoying the beautiful Bodega Bay views and the heated pool and Infinity Edge hot tub.

Activities You Can Enjoy Anytime Throughout The Weekend:

  • Take part in any number of incredible adventures the area has to offer (see “Explore the Area” below) or simply kick back and soak up the pleasures of the resort including the private, heated pool and Infinity Edge hot tub overlooking Bodega Bay’s two mile beach, spa services by reservation, spirited games of bocce ball, or hop on the cruiser bikes for a ride around the bay.

No. Casual is just fine.

How many people can I bring?
Each package includes three nights lodging and two admissions to the Friday winemaker workshop, the Saturday Winemaker Dinner and breakfast each morning. All attendees must be over 21 years of age.

Do I need to make separate dining accommodations for lunches and Thursday / Friday evening dinner?
Yes, you can join us onsite at Drake’s Sonoma Coast either or both nights where a RIDGE Executive will hosts guests with a special featured wine and pairing, or see the “Explore the Area” section above for a variety of off-site options.

Is the Bodega Bay Lodge ADA Accessible?

Can I bring my pet?
Pets are not permitted in the hotel, however they do welcome service animals in compliance with federal and state laws.

When is check-in and check-out?
You can check-in beginning on Thursday at 4pm and check-out is on Sunday by 11:30am

What if I can’t come and I have bought tickets?
Cancellations can be made up to two weeks prior to the event date.

2023 Lake Tahoe Getaway

Our second RIDGE Weekend Getaway took place June 29th – July 2nd, 2023 at the Edgewood Tahoe Resort. We couldn’t have imagined a better backdrop than Lake Tahoe to host our second installment of this incredible event. Guests and the RIDGE team attended numerous events throughout the weekend including special library tastings, winemaker workshops, wine conversations, offsite adventures, and a special Winemaker Dinner, capping off an unforgettable experience.
