Winemaker Tasting Notes

Beautiful pale coral color with aromas of white peach and rose petal. Light and fresh on the palate with notes of strawberry, minerality and balanced acidity. SR (12/25)

Vintage Notes

A third year of above-average rainfall replenished the vines. Six picks in order of ripeness began on August 22nd with young cinsaut from Lytton East. This block brought natural acidity from the lower sugar and pH. The final rosé pick, on October 6th, was ripe mataro and grenache from young vines at Lytton West. Pure, elegant fruit flavors highlight this expression of our Estate vineyard. SR (11/25)

History

Our first Lytton Estate Rosé was 2016. Each year, since then, we make a rosé culled from the range of Rhône varieties and zinfandel planted throughout our Lytton Springs vineyard. Extemporaneously produced by taste, the makeup of the wine changes vintage-to-vintage. As such, each spring upon release, it offers a unique opportunity to experience an old vineyard from a fresh angle.
