We are pleased to announce that Shauna Rosenblum has been named Lytton Springs Winemaker. In collaboration with Head Winemaker & COO John Olney, Rosenblum will lead all winemaking duties at our Lytton Springs winery and carry forward Ridge’s 60-year commitment to producing site-specific wines using traditional methods. She will be working alongside Michael Bairdsmith, who joined as Lytton’s Assistant Winemaker in 2014.

Shauna Rosenblum, Winemaker at Lytton Springs

“I am delighted that Shauna is joining the Ridge winemaking team. She brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in crafting exceptional single-vineyard zinfandel. For decades, Ridge has championed this grape from unique sites across California. I look forward to working with Shauna as we carry this legacy forward.” – John Olney

A Lifetime of Experience

Rosenblum brings a lifetime of winemaking experience with her to Ridge. Her father, Kent Rosenblum, of Rosenblum Cellars, introduced his winemaking passion to Shauna at an early age.

“My foundational winemaking education comes from my dad and his winemaking teams throughout the years. This started with checking the brix level on grape samples with a refractometer at the age of three. Yes, three. I started on the bottling line at age 12 in the glass dumping position, and by the time I was a teenager I was sitting in on blending trials with the winemaking team,” Rosenblum said.

In 2008, Rosenblum joined Rock Wall Wine Company as Winemaker. She directed a portfolio of over fifty grape contracts around California and oversaw all aspects of production on every lot of wine from crush to bottling. During her 14-year tenure at Rock Wall Wine Company, she rose to the rank of President and Chairperson of the Board of Directors.

A Word from Our New Winemaker

“Ridge’s core values and winemaking philosophies align with mine regarding: our zest for the art of making single-vineyard zinfandel, respect for the land and being stewards of the land, and allowing the finished wine to speak for itself and reflect the aforementioned. I am honored and enthusiastic to continue this tradition at Ridge,” Rosenblum said.
