March 2025
We are pleased to announce that Ridge Vineyards has been named the Most Admired Wine Brand in North America by Drinks International! In addition to earning this title for the fourth time, RIDGE moves up 15 spots to be listed at #11 overall in the “World’s Most Admired Wine Brands 2025.”
“The World’s Most Admired Wine Brands is an elite club to be part of and without doubt an authority regarding the industry’s most revered brands.”
–Shay Waterworth, Drinks International Editor
For the last 15 years, Drinks International has released its list of brands deemed the “World’s Most Admired,” which is voted on by the Drinks International Academy of leading wine buyers, sommeliers, wholesalers, bar owners, Masters of Wine, writers and educators from six continents around the world. This is Ridge Vineyard’s 14th consecutive year on the list.
Five decades ago, Ridge Vineyards Chairman Paul Draper concluded that “a winery cannot have an international reputation without international distribution.” The long road toward establishing RIDGE’s credentials in all of the great wine capitals of the world began in 1973 with our first export shipment to the UK. Today, RIDGE is found in more than 50 countries around the globe, and on the wine lists of the world’s best restaurants.
RIDGE has long been revered on the international wine stage. In 1976, the 1971 vintage of Monte Bello took 5th place in the Judgment of Paris. On May 24, 2006, the wine took first place in a 30-year re-enactment of the Judgment of Paris organized by Steven Spurrier — this time with simultaneous tastings in London and in Napa at Copia. In addition, this recognition comes on the heels of being awarded “Best Fine Wine Producer in the Americas” three years in a row at The Golden Vines.
Ridge Vineyards has consistently ranked on the “World’s Most Admired” wine brands in part because of its steadfast commitment to pre-industrial winemaking, a belief that, for anyone attempting to make fine wine, modern additives and industrial processing limit true quality. The philosophy comes from the techniques used in the finest 19th-century California wineries and Bordeaux chateaux. Read the full announcement here.
