2024
Sonoma County
14.4%
Nose of black raspberry, licorice and cedar. Medium bodied with balanced acidity. Flavors of black tea, cherry and French vanilla. SR (12/25)
Since its inception, Ridge has focused on single-vineyard wines. Rather than reflecting a single vineyard, Three Valleys showcases the complexity of Sonoma’s diverse terroirs. A cool spring and warm summer led to a balanced, expressive wine, crafted from a range of grape varieties. Enjoyable now, this wine will continue to develop over the next five years. SR (4/25)
The history of the Ridge Three Valleys began with the release of the 2001 vintage. The wine contains grapes from a number of Sonoma vineyards—this year, ten. We take great care in selecting the fruit, which is hand-harvested, then crushed and fermented on its native yeast and naturally occurring malolactic bacteria at both Monte Bello and Lytton Springs wineries. Unlike our single-vineyard wines, which reflect the distinctive character of each site, Three Valleys represents the blending of vineyards—winemaking—at its finest. Zinfandel determines the wine’s varietal character; old-vine carignane contributes bright fruit and acidity; petite sirah spice, depth of color, and firm tannins.

Vinous Media: 93 Points “The 2024 Three Valleys is darker and richer than its typical self. Mocha, wild blackberry, lavender and chalk settle in with real density and breadth. It’s a wine that overdelivers at every turn, impressing with ample freshness and a sense of quiet gravitas. Just beautiful.” -Billy Norris (January 2026)
Zinfandel Chronicles: 93 Points “Crimson in color. Pretty nose of red fruits, citrus, baking spices and earth. Medium body with medium acidity. Rich, earthy and approachable. Cherry, strawberry, blood orange and a hint of pepper on the palate. The finish is long and spicy. Delicious and easy to drink. Best over the next 3-4 years.” -Tom Lee (February 2026)
JamesSuckling.com: 93 Points “This generous, dark-fruited blend of California heritage grape varieties, led by zinfandel, is Ridge’s biggest-production red and affordably priced. Blackberries, cola and black cherries with hints of black pepper and sage. Soft tannins. Drink now.” -Jim Gordon (March 2026)
OwenBargreen.com: 92 Points “The 2024 ‘Three Valleys’ is 67% Zinfandel with 17% Carignan and smaller parts Mataro and Petite Sirah. This is juicy, forward and delicious with layers of red and dark fruits alongside milk chocolate and fresh sage. This is incredible wine for the price. Drink 2026-2033.” -Owen Bargreen (March 2026)
Wilfred Wong: 91 Points “The 2024 Ridge Three Valleys Red Wine Sonoma County: Deep ruby in color; lively berry aromas with hints of spice; medium-bodied, firm and well-built on the palate; dry, with balanced acidity and very good overall balance; ripe berry flavors show clarity and focus; a firm, composed finish. 91 Points Paired with classic Chinese takeout—think sweet and sour pork, beef with broccoli, or soy-braised dishes—the wine’s lively fruit and balanced structure complement the savory, slightly sweet flavors beautifully, making for an easy, satisfying, and delicious everyday pairing. (Best Served: 2026-2031)” -Wilfred Wong (March 2026)
