Nose of dark chocolate, black cherry, roasted meat and Russian River minerality, followed by notes of black currant, boysenberry, espresso and cigar box. SR (12/22)

Vintage Notes

Planted in 1892, the San Lorenzo vineyard exemplifies the power and complexity of an old field blend. The topography benefits from ridges and swales as well as the cooler climate of the Russian River valley. This, coupled with meticulous farming, creates ideal growing conditions for the interplanted varietals. This opulent wine is enjoyable now, and will evolve over the next ten to twelve years. SR (12/22)

History

Pete Seghesio owns this historic San Lorenzo Vineyard. Seghesio inherited the ranch from his mother, Rachel Ann Passalacqua Seghesio. The vineyard has been part of the Passalacqua family heritage since 1896, a few years after it was planted. Pete’s great-grandfather was a cook in the California gold fields and paid 10 gold coins for the land.
