In this generous year, the thirty-five-year-old carignane vines on the House parcel of Trentadue Ranch set a full crop. We dropped a quarter of the grapes to accentuate the varietal character of this lovely “quaffing wine.” Aged for twelve months in air-dried american oak, it is enjoyable now and will be at its best over the next several years. Since 1962, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, searching California for those rare vineyards where climate, soil, and varietal produce distinctive character. With minimal intervention, we guide that process—always attempting to produce exceptional wines.
