Vintage Notes

In this fine vintage, the stressed vines on Gate Block and the Ten Acre vineyard were combined to make this classic wine. With its intense berry fruit and big tannins, it is quintessential Jimsomare. (The remaining cabernet from this ranch is combined with grapes from Monte Bello farther up the ridge to make our exceptional Santa Cruz Mountains Cabernet.) This exceptional wine will be approachable within a year or two of its release, but will be most rewarding if given ten to fifteen years of bottle age. PD (3/95)

History

Since 1962, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, exploring California in search of great vineyards where climate, soil and varietal are ideally matched. Fine wine, when made traditionally, is the result of a natural process. Using traditional methods and minimal handling, we strive to produce the highest quality wines from superior and distinctive fruit. We are proud that our three decades are an integral part of California’s winemaking history.
