Vintage Notes

The hundred-year-old grenache vines on a southern hill at Lytton Estate were harvested separately, and combined with the forty-year-old grenache from Norton Ranch. Both plantings are mixed-in the vineyard-with zinfandel. This Advanced Tasting Program release demonstrates the quality and character of yet another varietal frequently found in old north coast zinfandel vineyards. Enjoyable now, this delightful wine will be at its best over the next six to eight years. PD (3/94)

History

Since 1962, Ridge has championed single-vineyard winemaking, exploring California in search of great vineyards where climate, soil and varietal are perfectly matched. Unlike other alcoholic beverages, fine wine, when made traditionally, is the result of a natural process. Using traditional methods and minimal handling, we strive to produce the highest quality wines from superior and distinctive fruit. We are proud that our three decades are an integral part of California’s winemaking history.
