60 Years of Winemaking

Since 1962, Ridge Vineyards has been championing single-vineyard winemaking. Paul Draper joined as Winemaker in 1969, bringing a worldwide view of winemaking philosophies. We call our approach “pre-industrial” because we utilize the techniques used in the finest 19th-century California wineries and Bordeaux chateaux, forgoing modern additives and industrial processing. Sixty years later, after Paul Draper had retired to Chairman of the Board and John Olney stepped in as Head Winemaker, we welcomed two new talents. Trester Goetting joined as Monte Bello Winemaker in January 2022 and Shauna Rosenblum as Lytton Springs Winemaker in July 2022. It was a momentous way for RIDGE to celebrate our 60th anniversary!
