Wine & Spirits Magazine announced the Most Popular Wines in America’s Top Restaurants and Ridge Vineyards made the list at #18 with a special note about our zinfandels. Here’s an excerpt from the April 2017 issue (on newsstands now):
For some diners, zinfandel is the ultimate comfort wine. “You have those people who want an American wine. They’ll say, ‘I like zin so let’s go with that,'” says Joe Billesbach from Brennan’s in New Orleans. Just like last year, Ridge’s wines are the most popular zinfandels at respondents’ restaurants. “A lot of zin producers have been blowing with the wind, first with more oak and alcohol, then, when that market was lost, they go with less oak and are pulling back on ripeness,” Billesbach says. “There’s something to be said for Ridge’s commitment to what they make.”
