Journalist James Molesworth at Wine Spectator recently ventured up to the Monte Bello winery to meet with Eric Baugher and discuss our flagship Monte Bello.
“Ridge Vineyards is one of California’s great wine icons, easily recognized for its bold yet minimalist labels and adored for the consistent quality of its Cabernets, Zinfandels and Chardonnays. The estate, located atop a mountain in the Santa Cruz range, has a loyal and voracious following.”
Their tasting consisted of a vertical of Monte Bello with vintages dating back to 1968 in addition to the upcoming 2016 vintage release.
“The 2016 Monte Bello is plush and dense, but with its typically distinct racy edge for counterbalance, with a massive core of dark plum and blackberry fruit scored by bay, sage and violet notes. It’s among the best young Monte Bellos I’ve had”
