In the November 2017 Issue of the California Grapevine, our 2014 Monte Bello received a score of 90 points.
2014 Monte Bello – 90 Points – “Medium-dark ruby; assertive, herbal, blackberry fruit aroma with hints of dill, mint, green olive, and vanilla; full body; dark berry fruit flavors with notes of dried herbs, some richness and refinement in the mouthfeel, and a bit tight and crisp on the finish with bright acidity; full tannin; lingering aftertaste. Shows some elegance and nicely integrated oak, and should benefit with further bottle aging. Very highly recommended. 13.9% alcohol; 5,000 cases; blended with 18% Merlot, 5% CF, and 2% PV; (Group Score: 16.5, 0/0/1; My Score: 17 [90/100], tenth place)
