Vintage Notes

The York Creek Ranch on Spring Mountain includes several Cabernet vineyards, each distinguished by elevation, soil or exposure. Approximately a third of this fine wine comes from the vigorous Spring House vineyard, which contributes elegance and softens the tannin and intensity of two-thirds from the lower vineyard. The minor percentage of Merlot is part of the lower portion and gives additional complexity. This readily accessible wine should show beautifully in the coming year, yet has the structure to develop more fully with four or five years in bottle. PD (8/83)
