David Amadia – President

DavidAIn a nutshell David sees his job this way; ensuring the next 50 years at Ridge are as successful as its first 50.

David has spent his entire 26-year professional career in the wine business and recently celebrated his 11th anniversary with Ridge Vineyards. David oversees all of Ridge Vineyards’ sales and marketing efforts including International, Direct-to-Consumer sales, and the U.S. market.  He also manages the company’s Finance, IT and Logistics functions.  A graduate of the University of California at Davis with a B.S. in Agricultural Economics, he went on to earn his MBA at The American Graduate School of International Management (Thunderbird) in Arizona.

Prior to coming to Ridge in 2005, David worked for 6 years, 1995-2001, with Southcorp Wines as their Vice President in charge of Canada and Latin America. With Southcorp he was able to work with top winemakers John Duval and Peter Gago, and with celebrated wines like the Penfold’s Grange Hermitage and Wynn’s John Riddoch.

He then went on to work for 4 years with Randall Grahm, from 2001-2005, as the Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  While at Bonny Doon he guided the winery’s transition to Screw-Cap closures, helped to start the trend towards blended red wines with the Big House Red, and helped to begin the winery’s transition to Biodynamic farming.
