Frequently Asked Questions

ATP Prices: Q: Can you estimate the annual cost of membership?

A: The average price per bottle for the ATP is $30. We ship in increments of 2, 4, 6, or 12 bottles, nine times a year. The Z List ships two times a year in 6 or 12 bottle increments. The average price per bottle is $32. Advance Tasting Program and Z List members are charged for the wine, plus shipping and taxes based on location; there are no sign-up fees and you may cancel at any time. Please telephone the winery at 408-867-3233 or send e-mail to wine@ridgewine.com for more details.

Cookies: Q: When I try to add something to my shopping cart, I get a notice that my browser is not accepting cookies. I turned my cookies off to protect my privacy and security. Isn't it dangerous to allow websites to write cookies?

A: For a site to remember who you are from page to page, it passes a token to your browser so that when you hit the next page, it will know you are the same person who just put something in your shopping cart. These kinds of cookies, called 'session cookies' are absolutely necessary for any store or web service to work. They reveal nothing about you to anyone; they're just the tool used to keep your shopping cart associated with you.

There are long lasting cookies that are written to your browser that last longer than a session. We write one of those so that on future visits, the site will remember you and help you complete forms.

The third kind of cookie is the one you might worry about. Some sites allow third parties to set cookies that track your behavior across many sites to build profiles of you and show you ads and offers that match your profile. Ridge doesn't have any such third party marketing cookies, just the ones that make the site work and friendly. You can block these cookies by setting your privacy option to medium-high or high in Microsoft Exporer or to set "allow cookies" and "for the originating web site only" in Firefox.

Legal States: Q: Can you ship wine to my state?

A: State laws are forever in flux: contact us with any questions at 408-867-3233, or consult the Wine Institute.

We maintain an internal list of 'legal' states and their rules, as they apply to us. You can see what the status of a state is here.

Non-wine items are available for shipping to all states.

Monte Bello Futures: Q: When will the futures ship?

A: The 2005 futures will ship in March 2008. The 2006 futures will ship in March 2009. The wine will ship two years after purchase.

Purchasing wines: Q: May we order wine to be held at the winery? We'd like to pick it up when we visit.

A: We do not offer will-call. When visiting the tasting rooms, you may select and purchase from the tasting room's available inventory. All orders placed over the telephone and via the Internet ship directly from our warehouse.

Store: Q: How do I find a retailer in my state who carries Ridge wines?

A: Please telephone Ridge Wholesale at 408-868-1317 or send e-mail to wholesale@ridgewine.com.

Store: Q: Do you ship internationally?

A: Due to customs restrictions, we cannot ship wine internationally.

Store: Q: I select wines to purchase, but when I go to check out, it says there is nothing in my shopping basket.

A: You have modified your browser to reject cookies. In some browsers, this happens when you turn the privacy setting to the highest level.

A 'cookie' is a little token that enables the website to remember what you've put in your shopping basket and the checkout forms. If you adjust your browser's settings to accept cookies, our store (and others) will work fine.

Visiting: Q: When is your tasting room open?

A: At Lytton Springs, daily from 11 to 4. At Monte Bello, Saturdays and Sundays from 11 to 4.
