February 01, 2010: February Membership Month at our Tasting Rooms

February 05, 2010: February First Friday

Join us in the Monte Bello tasting room for a member-only sneak preview of our Monte Bello Half-Bottle Showcase. We?ve been through our library and chosen three unique Monte Bello vintages to offer at our upcoming Monte Bello Showcase on February 13 and 14. Half-bottles are an economical way to take home a bottle of our flagship Monte Bello Cabernet blends, and these vintages are limited in quantity. February 08, 2010: February ATP Ships

2004 Syrah Lytton Estate

82% Syrah, 10% Viognier, 8% Grenache

Warm springs weather contributed to a good syrah crop at Lytton West. Eight separate pickings were required to ensure that the grapes in each section were harvested at full flavor. To accentuate fruit and limit tannin extraction, they were destemmed, but left uncrushed, as whole berries. Viognier fermented with the syrah, the grenache fermented separately; all were on naturally-occurring yeasts. Fermentations finished in eleven days on average; the finest of the first press was included in the wine. After an uninoculated malolactic, it aged for twenty-two months in air-dried american oak barrels-a quarter new, the rest well-tempered (two to seven years old). This beautifully-balanced, spicy syrah-enhanced by the complementary varietals-is appealing, even as a young wine. It will develop more fully over the next five to seven years. EB/PD (4/06)

Our Z List After Hours gives our Z list members an opportunity to pick up and taste the latest Z List offerings: the 2008 Geyserville, 2008 Paso Robles, and the 2008 East Bench which separates the Dry Creek and Alexander Valleys. These wines will not be released to the public until April 1st at our Annual Spring Release tasting, so be among the few to taste these exciting new vintages. This event is complimentary for all Ridge Z List Program Members (+1 guest), and an RSVP by February 14 is required to attend, and to pick up your shipment.
